State of Colorado
The Colorado Energy Office and the Department of Personnel and Administration engaged Sawatch Labs in June 2018 to analyze state vehicles for EV suitability. Of the 57 vehicles analyzed, 34 were identified as good candidates for replacement with EVs. Replacing these vehicles with the recommended EV model would result in lifetime savings exceeding $100,000.
Town of Plainsboro, New Jersey
“Plainsboro Township recently completed a 90 day assessment with Sawatch Labs in five of its vehicles to
determine which, if any, vehicles made economically and environmental sense to replace gas vehicles with
EVs. The data results are very thorough, and in-depth and has helped the Township pinpoint where we will
get the best impact for our investment in EVs”
- Anthony Cancro, Town Administrator
City of Columbus, Ohio
The city of Columbus used Sawatch ezEV analytics to identify the first 83 electric vehicles that would be adopted into their municipal fleet as part of their Smart Columbus initiative goal of 200 EVs overall. Working with the Electrification Coalition, Sawatch continues to support fleet electrification in Columbus.
State of North Carolina
"The results of Sawatch Lab's data-driven analysis provided actionable results that allowed North
Carolina to create a confident and realistic plan for successful EV implementation. "
- Robert Riddle, Director – Division of Motor Fleet Management
Xcel Energy
Sawatch Labs has teamed up with Xcel Energy to help fleet operators assess individual vehicles to determine if a vehicle’s driving needs could be met with an electric vehicle (EV). The project aims to support the development of fleet electrification plans, assess charging site suitability and estimate the cost of infrastructure installation. This low- or no-cost program is available to fleets that reside in the Xcel territory of Colorado and Minnesota.
EV WATTS
Sawatch Labs has partnered with Energetics and several Clean Cities Coalitions to gather a national dataset of EV operations around the country for the EV WATTS Project. This public dataset will be used by National Labs, research organizations, and others to better understand how EVs are driven and charged. This will also inform future technology and infrastructure development. The EV WATTS team is currently recruiting fleets and local EV clubs. Find out more at www.evwatts.org, or follow EV WATTS on Facebook and Twitter @EVWATTSProject.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL)
Sawatch Labs is conducting analyses for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's work supporting the U.S. Department of Energy's State and Alternative Fuel Provider Fleet Program. The analyses for the several pilot projects are powered by Sawatch Labs ezEV and use telematics data from participating fleets to identify how and where EVs can contribute to meeting their EPAct requirements. This project has a component focused on helping universities identify how EVs can play a role in their fleet's efforts to meet broader campus-wide net-zero energy goals. The other component is focused on helping state fleets understand the impact that EV charging will have on their electricity costs and fleet electrification increases.
ezEV Analytics
Our proprietary analytics software, ezEV, uses telematics data to assess individual vehicles to determine if the vehicle’s driving needs could be met with an electric vehicle (EV).
Each vehicle is scored on it's energy use, economics, and parking consistency which are combined into an Overall ezEV Suitability Score.
Our ezEV Analysis helps you confidently determine which vehicles in your fleet are good candidates for replacement with an EV. Additionally, we identify the optimal locations for installing charging infrastructure to support the vehicle based on its energy use and parking locations.

ionEV Analytics
We can help drivers get the right miles on the right vehicle, ensuring that EVs are used where they perform best, giving drivers the confidence that an EV will work for their trip needs.
Maximizing the miles on the EVs in the fleet will reduce fuel and maintenance costs across the entire fleet, resulting in savings year after year.
EV Charging Infrastructure Analysis
To ensure successful EV deployments within your fleet, it is imperative that each vehicle has access to charging stations (a.k.a. electrical vehicle supply equipment or EVSE) at convenient locations for overnight charging.
Using telematics data, we identify the optimal locations to install charging infrastructure to support the adoption of EVs in your fleet.

Utilization & Right-sizing
Maximizing the return on investment (ROI) for your fleet vehicles requires understanding your drivers’ needs, identifying opportunities to optimize utilization, and mitigating potential safety hazards.
We use telematics data to help fleet managers maximize their ROI.
EMIT
Measure and monitor your fleet’s air emissions on a day-by-day basis with our Emissions Intelligence Tool (EMIT). With EMIT you can quickly determine your progress in reducing your fleet’s air emissions to ensure you are complying with your sustainability goals.

Telematics
At Sawatch Labs, we believe telematics data is a critical component of making informed decisions about your fleet. Fleet optimization is not “one-size fits all” and, as such, major vehicle and infrastructure decisions should not be based on readily available, high-level, aggregated data. That’s why all our analyses and recommendations are based on your data from any telematics system.
