Denver Water’s Fleet Gets the Juice
Denver Water is making significant strides in sustainability by transitioning its fleet to include electric vehicles (EVs). The organization has added two Ford F-150 Lightning trucks and a Ford E-Transit van to its lineup, with plans for additional EVs as models become available. This effort aligns with Denver Water's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2025.
Denver Water has long been recognized as a leader in sustainability. With a dedication to environmental stewardship, the organization has a strong focus on energy and water conservation. Recently, Denver Water has established an initiative to reduce fleet emissions. To support the EV transition, Denver Water has installed 32 charging ports across its facilities and is planning to add 20 more. Sawatch Labs played a key role in this initiative by analyzing vehicle data to identify where EVs could effectively replace gas-powered vehicles. These insights helped optimize the fleet's shift toward electrification while maintaining operational efficiency.
Denver Water's partnership with Sawatch Labs highlights the importance of data-driven decisions in advancing environmental stewardship and achieving ambitious sustainability goals. With the help of Sawatch Labs, Denver Water is developing its long-term strategy to reduce overall fleet emissions. Actual operational data will support fine-tuning decisions for vehicle procurement and charging station infrastructure installations. The insights gained from this analysis will save time and money while minimizing impacts on daily operations. As the fleet continues to expand the number of electric vehicles in its fleet, the ezEV, ezIO, and EMIT results will inform decisions impacting the entirety of the organization from fleet and facilities to sustainability, finance departments, and perhaps most directly, drivers.
