Thwarting Thieves and how Telematics can Help Fleets and Individuals Alike

Helping a friend in need is always a great feeling. Using telematics to help a friend locate their stolen vehicle, however, gives one a whole new level of pride. Earlier this week the Sawatch team was able to help one of our friends recover his truck after someone drove off with it in the middle of the night. Fortunately for Marcus his truck was equipped with a telematics device which allowed us to follow the thief’s route and determine the final destination. Marcus and his truck were soon reunited.

Whether thieves are taking joyrides or stealing parts such as catalytic converters, protecting your assets with telematics can provide significant peace of mind. Thankfully, Marcus quickly located his vehicle so he didn’t have to spend hours stressing over the theft he experienced.

Thefts aren’t the only areas where telematics can help fleets and individuals alike. Collision notifications, preventing maintenance issues, improving bad driving habits are all ways telematics can help anyone save money, time, and the burden that accompanies owning a car. Hopefully from this point forward Marcus only relies on telematics for monitoring and maintaining service records. Either way, Sawatch and Marcus’s telematics device will be there to help in real-time as we’re needed.
